Brand × Environment × Experience — for multi-store brands

Even if the number of stores increases,
For the brand to be one.

Translating the brand into the retail environment.

Environmental design for franchise and multi-store brands.
From designing a single store to expanding to multiple locations.

The value of a brand,
We will create an environment where customers can have a consistent experience at every store.

FC Headquarters / Environmental Design for Multi-Store Brands

What we design

Not a store,
Designing environments where brands are experienced.

Stores are the environment in which brands meet their customers.
Before looking at fixtures and lighting, try to understand what the brand values and how it wants to be perceived.

〼STUDIO is,
From the perspective of someone who has researched the relationship between people and the environment,
This translation should not be done on a per-store basis.
We design it as a whole project.

Proof Back capability

HAKU - Expanding to 100 stores nationwide,
We actually created the environment.

HAKU is a brand that has been around since the launch of the STUDIO.

I have been involved in everything up to the expansion of the store network.

This is a salon brand with approximately 100 locations nationwide.

We are demonstrating our approach through our actual work.

The important thing is not that we designed one store.

To establish a brand environment as a standard,

The goal was to create a system that could be expanded to multiple locations.

→ Environment

→ Standard

→ Multi-Store Deployment

HAKU store space design and interior design

01

Based on property information, floor plans, and photographs provided by headquarters, we design the environment for each store.Instead of visiting every single store in person, we have adopted a system that allows us to accurately interpret the information we receive.

02

Based on the brand concept, the interior, furniture, lighting, signage, and graphics were designed as a consistent environment.

03

The design details are compiled into documents such as Design Sheets and Product Lists so that headquarters can distribute them to franchisees.

What we actually built

Not just "how many stores they opened",

"What were you thinking, what did you create, and how did you develop it?"

This is the area where I actually got my hands dirty with HAKU.

Customer Voice

These are the voices of people who actually use that environment.

The answer to a design problem isn't found solely within the blueprints.

The environment that was created affects people

How do you feel?
How is it used?
What kind of experience did it lead to?

Based on feedback from customers who have actually used HAKU,
Let's look at the results of the "environment" we designed.

Effectiveness / Sense of security / Convenience / Cleanliness / Comfort / Attachment

01

| Sense of security

I received very courteous service during my initial free trial, which made me feel confident that I could continue using the service.
It's such a comfortable space, I look forward to coming here."

— HAKU Matsumoto store

02

| Comfort and privacy

"I was able to spend my time comfortably in a clean store. Since it was self-service, I didn't have to worry about other people's eyes, so I was able to whiten my teeth in a relaxed manner. I'm also satisfied with the results."

— HAKU Musashi-Koyama Store

03

| Affection and return visits

"It was my first time visiting, but the store was clean and comfortable."

I would like to come here regularly.

A brand becomes a space, and its message is conveyed through the environment.

Why this matters to a franchise business

One concept, applied to all stores.

Designed as a space, even if the number of stores increases,

We will create a system that allows that way of thinking to be passed down naturally.

i

Prepare the environment

ii

The customer experience at the store is changing.

iii

The brand's image is conveyed consistently across all stores.

iv

How stores are chosen by customers will change.

v

The overall consistency of the store network will be strengthened.

vi

The knowledge gained from one store is carried over to the design of the next store to be opened.

"The environment communicates the value of the business."

〼STUDIO Environment Design Method

From initial consultations to multi-store expansion.
We will design it as a single, continuous process.

Translating the business philosophy into space,

We will expand from one store to the next.

01

| Consultation / First, let's talk.

It's okay if you haven't decided what you want us to do yet. Current store,

Let me first talk about what we plan to do next.

02

| Environmental Diagnosis

Observe people, behavior, space, brand, movement patterns, light, sound, materials, and experiences.

This will make it clear that the challenges are not limited to the interior design.

03

| Planning / What to protect and what to change

Based on the diagnostic results, we will organize the connections between the brand, experience, environment, stores, and expansion.

We will determine the direction of the design.

04

| Environmental design / Translating brands into environmental solutions

From space design, interior design, furniture, lighting, signage, graphics, web design, and digital media,I design it as a single project.

05

| Implement/Turn it into a tangible form

We will realize the design as an actual store environment.

06

| Multi-store expansion / Passing on knowledge to the next store

Instead of stopping at designing just one store, we use materials such as design sheets to...We will pass on our knowledge to our franchisees and future store openings.

About Environment Diagnosis

From five perspectives,
I will put into words the relationship between the environment and business.

Environment Diagnosis assesses the impact the environment has on people.

This is a diagnostic tool for STUDIO that visualizes your system from five different perspectives.
